Peachtree Academy PTO Minutes
August 12, 2008


The meeting was called to order by Ken Van Ness at 6:40 p.m. in the school gymnasium with opening prayer.

The board and chairpersons were introduced.

Volunteers were asked to sign up for the following Committees:

  1. Fall Festival- Signup sheet @ entrance of gymnasium.
  2. Box Tops, Room Parent Liaison, Car Line and Fundraisers.

Budget
The budget for the current school year was discussed by Stephanie Anderson. Currently the balances are as follows:
Main PTO Account: $1,185.00
Scrip Account $1,760.94
Total $2,946.24
This does not include PTO dues, raffle tickets and spirit cards collected for 08-09.

Principal's Report
Ken Van Ness welcomed all in attendance and introduced the Administration that was present and informed parents of contact information. Additionally, extra - curricular activities were promoted and discussed with the announcement of a School Soccer Team.

New Business
Fundraisers

  1. Spirit Night @Johnny's Pizza - Suzanne McLean - Spirit Night held every 2nd Tuesday of the month. Up to 15% of proceeds for the day come back to Peachtree Academy.
  2. United Scrip - Angela Cushman - Passed out flyers and discussed procedures, including due dates and gift card return dates.
  3. Box Tops - Tara Nestich - Box top collection will be set up in lobbies.
  4. Spirit Cards - Dan Prudhomme - Spirit Cards on pre-sale for $10.
  5. Reach For The Stars - Ena Hackaday - Explained the reading marathon for the Pre-K - 2nd Grade to kick off September 15th.
  6. Jaxco - Danielle Earwood - Explained the Fundraiser for the 3rd - 7th grade to kick off August 15th.
  7. 10th Anniversary Fundraiser - Stephanie Anderson - Explained details of free tuition. Raffle tickets on sale for $25. per or 5 for $100. and can be purchased through the night of the Fall Festival on October 24th.
